After we lost the Jumping Frog Bookstore in '98 the club dwindled down as attempts to find another quality site failed. For several years the club's equipment sat in my garage. Then my son founded a chess club at his school, Hartford Public High. I lent the GHCC equipment to the HPHS club, where it has remained. I've talked to a few of the former members of the GHCC and the concensus seems to be to leave the equipment with HPHS after my son graduates. It doesn't look like the GHCC will ever be revived, and the equipment is being put to good use at Hartford Public.
In the meantime, for chess in the Hartford area, I recommend The New Britain Chess Club.
