Sunday Maure and I hiked to Hermit's Cave in Erving, Mass., mostly along the MM Trail. We didn't realize until almost at the end that the brook we'd been following is called Briggs Brook.

This weekend was the annual GMC Conn. Section Catskill trip. On Saturday we climbed Panther. I did it as a traverse. On Sunday we hiked the southern end of the Escarpment Trail to Inspiration Point, with a side trip to Upper Kaaterskill Falls. I continued from there to explore some places around there I hadn't been to before.

This was a circling of Breakneck Pond I did with Maure. It was mostly in Nipmuck State Forest in Union, although it started and ended in Bigelow Hollow State Park, and for a while went into Massachusetts.

This hike was mostly in Nipmuck State Forest in Union, although it started and ended in Bigelow Hollow State Park, and for a while went into Massachusetts. It was a repeat of one I did in February 2015. This was officially a Conn. Section of the GMC hike, but nobody else ended up coming.

I participated in Flags on the 48 on Middle Tripyramid for the tenth year in a row. This year I wasn't crew leader, though, just a helper. The next day I climbed Whiteface and Passaconaway, putting me over halfway in my quest to reclimb the Northeast 111 in my sixties.
