On my second try I bagged Madison in the winter. It was sunny and stunningly beautiful on the way up, and in a cloud on the way down.

I hiked up North Dome in the Catskills from the Devil's Path with my friend Jim. Two guys we met at the trailhead joined us.

I reclimbed Seymour Mountain with Goat. It was one the toughest hikes I've done in years, and maybe one of the two worst ever in terms of post-hike physical effects.

The original plan was for some of us from the Conn. Section of the GMC to hike a section of the Appalachian Trail in Maine last weekend. However, Maine hasn't reopened enough yet, so we changed it to a section of the AT in Connecticut.

Redington U - Redington Herd Path - South Crocker Mountain - South Crocker Mountain Spur Trail - Appalachian Trail - North Crocker Mountain - Appalachian Trail - the AT at Rte. 27

Ten years to the day after the last time I climbed these mountains, I returned. The herd path to Redington was way easier to follow than it had been in 2010.
