The Five Poinop

The Poinop are five locations in the the SSildifian Empire which were considered expecially sacred to the Polpinoitist Religion. Two are in the Northern Hemisphere, two in the Southern, and one on the equator. From north to south, they are:

Mount DDiilo

Mount DDiilo, on the island of SSamo, is the highest point on Umuto at 9292 feet (2832 meters) above sea level. Unlike most peaks on SSamo, there is no building, or even a cairn, on the peak.

Uno

Uno is a meteor impact crater on the edge of the island of DDiimudo in the Xaumumo Province. It's approximately 95 miles (150 km.) in diameter. The western section of the wall of the crater is on the main portion of the island. The northern and eastern sections of the wall are a long peninsula. The southern section is underwater, so the crater forms a bay. There is a steep central island, named Misseetaino (God's Finger) in the middle of the bay.

Meenoit Umutoyit

Meenoit Umutoyit ("Center of the World") was the most sacred location in the Polpinoitist Religion. It is a pyramidal structure 277 feet (85 meters) tall. The base is not a square, but a rhombus whose sides are aligned with the solstitial sunrises and sunsets. The tip of the pyramid is right on the equator.

Meenoit Umutoyit is on the island of Zvano in Ponomo. It still stands.

Note that Meenoit Umutoyit is in the transportable gender instead of the positional because "meenoit", meaning "center", is a gramatical exception to the semanticly based gender system.

The Enlatto Cliffs

The Enlatto Cliffs tower next to the Enlatto Pass, which is the main route between the Pafo River Valley (which is roughly the province of Seezzito) and the Dabo Bay region of Xaapo Province on the island of Poto. The pass and the cliffs themselves are part of Xaapo.

The Enlatto Cliffs have writing on them, twelve foot tall glyphs cut deep into the rock. These are believed to be the oldest known writing on Umuto, although their dates are hard to determine, because they have been deepened several times during known history, and probably several times before that, to counteract the effects of erosion. They have never been translated, although possible interpretations abound.

Fuwo

Fuwo is a small stone tower on a small but steep hill in Xaapo on the island of Poto. Nobody seems to be able to say just what its significance is, but everyone agrees it is very significant. The tower has fallen and been rebuilt several times throughout history. However, archeologists believe the base survives from the earliest days of stone construction on Umuto.
